pl0104culture-004cThe popular television series “Downton Abbey” has inspired the latest work of novelist Wendy Wax, pictured at right, who has written about the fans of the show in her book, “While We Were Watching Downton Abbey.”

The book tells the tale of the growing bond between three strangers and the British concierge of their Atlanta high-rise as the meet to watch the show during weekly viewing parties.

In celebration of the show’s season five premiere, JCC Greenwich will be hosting an author talk with Wax, a national best-selling author of women’s fiction. Her other books include “The House On Mermaid Point,” “Ocean Beach” and “Ten Beach Road.”

The talk will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 7, at 10 a.m. at the Drawing Room in the Cos Cob section of Greenwich. Books will be available for purchase and signing. Tickets are $18.

“I’ve enjoyed a lot of TV programs in my day, but ‘Downton Abbey’ is the first one that inspired me to write a novel,” Wax said in a recent release. For information, visit JCC Greenwich’s website.
